Sources familiar with Facebook’s plans confirmed that the company is ready to announce soon a new name for the company that reflects the company’s vision to focus on the “metaverse”.
Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Facebook, is preparing to issue important statements during the company’s annual “Connect” conference, which will be held on October 28, as he clarifies the vision of the new company during the coming period, which is reflected in the new name that the company will soon share.
It is also expected that the change of the company’s name will lead to some changes in the distinctive blue brand of the Facebook application, as well as a change in the company’s applications such as WhatsApp, Messenger, as well as Instagram, Oculus and other applications and services.
Facebook Inc. has more than 10,000 employees among developers of the company’s AR glasses and other devices and services.
Zuckerberg issued previous statements in which he stressed that the company wants to leave the limited circle in which it was known as a social network to launch a broader vision as a “metaverse” company.
It is also expected that the upcoming change of the company’s name will separate the company’s future work from the intense legal scrutiny that the social network is currently subject to.
It is noteworthy that the new name of the company is still subject to complete confidentiality from the company until it is officially announced during the coming period.
