Facebook’s Meta platform has announced that it has taken another step in trying to prevent the spread of misinformation by releasing a new set of tools for group admins.
This new feature is not only aimed at identifying misinformation, but it will also help reduce the burden on group administrators.
The first and most important new feature introduced this week is the ability by helping the admin to automatically reject incoming posts that contain false information. Second, the Mute functionality has been further improved and renamed to Comment, so that admins can now temporarily suspend group members from posting, commenting, interacting, participating in a group chat and creating or entering a room in a group, not just muting them.
To help admins manage their groups much easier, the platform has added a new feature that enables them to automatically approve or reject member requests, based on specific criteria. Also, the design of the admin home page has been updated with a new page on desktop, new layout, and insights summary on mobile.
Furthermore, the platform announced that it has added QR code support, which will allow admins to download or copy/paste from the share menu and advertise their groups.
