MediaTek announced its financial report for the month of January 2022, which revealed that the company recorded revenues of $1.55 billion, with a year-on-year increase of 23.1% and a monthly decrease of 5.8%.
MediaTek has confirmed its positive forecast for the company’s revenue for this quarter, as the company’s forecasts indicate that revenue will range between $4.7 billion to $5.1 billion in the first quarter of 2022, an increase of 2 to 10% over the same quarter last year.
The company’s CEO, Cai Lixing, indicated that the expected rise in revenue is due to the company’s shipments of 5G chips and also the Dimensity 9000 processor, provided that the high demand for these chips compensates for the company’s shipments in some other products.

In the fourth quarter of 2021, the company recorded revenues of $4.7 billion, an increase of 33.5% compared to the same previous quarter, and the company’s shipments increased to 110 million units in 2021 compared to 77.4 million units in 2020.
