ZTE subsidiary Nubia announced the Red Magic 6 in March with 66W charging, and now the company is preparing to release the Red Magic 7, which could break all fast charging records on any available smartphone after getting 3C certification with 165W charging support.
The fastest Nubia smartphones at the moment are the Red Magic 6 Pro and Red Magic 6s Pro, with speeds up to 120W. However, you can get these speeds on Chinese models of phones as their international versions are limited to 66W. Hence, if Nubia decides to launch the Red Magic 7 globally, the phone may not get 165W of charge on the international unit.
However, even with the Chinese version, Nubia’s 165W charging technology is not the fastest wired charging at the moment, as Xiaomi’s HyperCharge technology that was introduced in May of this year is considered the best.
And Xiaomi’s HyperCharge 200W technology is said to go into mass production in June 2022, so the chances that the Nubia Red Magic 7 will be the fastest commercially available smartphone at launch are higher since it’s already 3C certified, and you can expect to get more regulatory approvals from various parties. In the coming weeks or months.
It is worth noting that there is leaked information that the Red Magic 7 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor.
