Chip giant Qualcomm has begun working on the development of the new version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor chips, which will be officially launched in May next year.
Qualcomm recently introduced the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor to the market, which already supports some of the recently announced versions of smartphones.
Today, the latest reports published on Weibo confirmed that the company has already started developing the new generation of the chip, which will launch next year with the title Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.
Expectations indicate that the upcoming version of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processors will come with performance improvements to outperform the company’s current Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip, as well as the MediaTek version of Dimensity 9000.
It is noteworthy that the leaks highlight the recent competition between Qualcomm and MediaTek in the market for processors intended for smartphones, which continues with more premium versions that will be launched next year to the markets.
